 Student assistants at Mudd Library check out books, reserve materials, and other items for patrons, re-shelve returned books, shelf read, monitor the entrance and exit gates, answer the phone, refer reference questions to the Reference Librarian on duty,  help patrons with printing problems, and provide general assistance. Other duties may include keeping the printers and copy machines stocked with paper and picking up and processing the morning mail. Additional duties as assigned. 
 
MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK DURING FINAL EXAM WEEK AND UNTIL THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR.
 
Work Study Students- Must be an NU undergraduate with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the current year.

Job Details
Qualifications: 
Library experience preferable, but not required. Must have good communication skills and friendly, helpful manner with patrons. Must pay close attention to detail, be able to learn and apply pertinent information quickly, as well as recognize when it is appropriate to ask a staff member for assistance. It is extremely important that students be prompt and reliable when staffing the service desk. Students will be required to work weekend hours for at least one quarter per school year.
