You will orient people to the Library, handle telephone questions, and help people use the online catalog, electronic databases, and the internet. Provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting of computers and printers. Handle copy and vending machine refunds, and serve as contact person for various Library-wide services and informational functions. This position involves a significant amount of required, paid training. Students holding this position will be coordinating services and communication at Information Commons. Responsibilities for this position include:
 
*Inventory, assess, and maintain status of forms, supplies, and the Bulletin Board.
*Must serve as a communication point, create status updates, and coordinate with full-time staff and supervisors.
*Must co-present in training sessions, engage in follow-up trainings, and serve as a "peer resource" for student co-workers.
 Note to Work Study students:  Work Study students must be an NU undergraduate with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the current year.

Qualifications: 
Minimum of one year of directly relevant experience. Must enjoy working with the public, have an interest in academic research, and be able to work without supervision. High degree of responsibility, conscientiousness, and communication required for direct responsibility for department functionality. Required to work evening and weekend hours.
