CIC Virtual Electronic Library (VEL)
Welcome to Northwestern University Library's implementation of the CIC Virtual Electronic Library (VEL). Through the VEL, the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), made up of the Big 10 plus other schools, is offering access through a common web interface to its libraries' catalogs, including NUcat, collectively representing over 58 million volumes. The VEL allows you to conduct a search in all of the catalogs simultaneously or to select specific catalogs for searching. In the future, you will be able to directly request items for interlibrary loan through the VEL. Check this web page for updates and notices of enhancements.
The Northwestern VEL is currently being transitioned to Einstein.
