Schaffner Library

Schaffner Library, located in Wieboldt Hall, is closed until sometime in 2022 while it is being reimagined as a student commons and repurposed to more effectively meet space needs for growing programs on the Chicago campus.

The Library is named after Joseph Schaffner, a founder of Northwestern's first School of Commerce. In recognition of the Schaffner family's generosity in equipping the library and providing an endowment for books, it was named for Joseph Schaffner at Wieboldt Hall's 1927 dedication.
