Locations and Call Numbers
LocationsArt books and serials are shelved according to size in three sequences: Regular, Large, and Folio. The call number sequence for Regular-sized books and serials begins at the right of the Art Desk, follows the perimeter of the Reading Room, including both alcoves, and ends at the left side of the desk. Large books (27+ cm high or wide) are housed on the free-standing shelves in the Martin Reading Room, beginning on the right (north) side. They continue on the left side of the Martin Reading Room and into the south alcove. Large and Folio serials are housed in the north alcove. Folio books (35+ cm) are located in the south alcove. Most materials on architecture, civic and landscape art (710s and 720s) are located in the Architecture Reading Room, across the lobby from the Martin Reading Room. Art Reference books are located next to the copiers in the Martin Reading Room and on low shelves along one wall in the Architecture Reading Room. Please ask at the Art Desk if you need assistance.
