"The Nuclear Age" display contains publications from
the U.S. Federal government as well as several International Organizations
ranging from 1950, near the dawn of the nuclear age, to the present
day. The majority of these publications were designed to educate
average U.S. citizens (both children and adults) on how to prepare
for, and what to do in case of a nuclear attack. It is particularly
interesting to see the change in content and tone over the time
period represented. The remainder of the publications focus on the
nature of nuclear weapons and energy, as well as how they have changed
the way we live our lives for both good and bad. The U.S. Federal
publications range from 1950 to 1985. International publications
range from 1983 to 2002. Photos of the display can be found here.
