New Student Week Display
2002
On Display Spetember 9,
2002 to October 11, 2002
In the main lobby, the Government Publications
portion of the New Student Week Exhibit was a display case filled
with photographs of movie stars from Gary Cooper to Julia Roberts.
The display posed this question:
In addition to being Academy Award winners,
what do all these actors and actresses have in common? If you
know the answer - go to GovPubs and claim your surprise. (And
yes, the answer really is related to Government Publications)
The answer is that they all testified before the
U.S. Congress. For those lucky souls who did venture over to Government
Publications, there was a display containing the hearings at which
all those Oscar winners testified, including a quotation from the
star's testimony. Some of these hearings make for very interesting
reading, especially the ones where the actor or actress in question,
is being accused of something. If you are interested, all of these
hearings are available in our department. If you're not in the area,
you should be able to find them at your local Federal
Depository Library.
