How do I...?

...limit a search in NUcat just to books, periodicals, videos, etc...?

Click the "Choose More Limits" button near the bottom of the NUcat search screen. The Search Limits page will then display.

Select one or more limits in the Type menu:

To make multiple selections, hold down the Ctrl key (the Command key on Macintoshes) while clicking on your selections with the mouse. You can also choose Projected Graphics (Slides, Filmstrips, etc.), 35 MM Motion Pictures and Videorecordings from the Medium menu.

Once you've made your selection(s), click the "Set Limits" button at the bottom of the page. This will take you back to a NUcat search screen where you can enter your search terms. You should notice a message near the top of your screen reading "Limits are in effect for Title, Journal Title, Keyword, Call Number and Guided searches only." Your search limits remain in effect until you click the "Remove Limits" button, or until you close your browser.
