Using Library Seminar Room # 3746

Seminar Room 3746 will be closed beginning June 16, 2008 for renovation of the Marjorie I. Mitchell Multimedia Center. Staff is available to take room reservations for Fall Quarter.

Occupancy: Seats 16 people.

 

Description: Library Seminar Room # 3746 is furnished with one long conference table and moveable chairs. There is an cabinet in the front of the room which houses the AV equipment listed below.

Scheduling: Seminar Room # 3746 is available to members of the Northwestern community for computer and multimedia presentations and other special programs. It is not available for use as a regularly scheduled classroom or for events that do not require the use of audio-visual or computer equipment at each session. Multimedia Center facilities are not to be used for events for which an admission is charged or for which attendees are compensated.

Multimedia Center Collections: With the exception of laserdiscs and CDs, titles in our collection cannot be reserved with a room reservation. All titles in our collection except laserdiscs and CDs may be checked out with a valid NU WildCARD or vaild borrower's card and taken to Seminar Room 3746 for screening. Multimedia Center staff will assist faculty in loading media and using the equipment if needed.

Access to the Room: The Seminar Room is locked at all times. For access, pick up the intercom on the wall just outside the room and press the "call" button. You will be buzzed into the room. DO NOT prop the door open or an alarm will sound after 30 seconds.

Audio Visual Equipment: The following equipment can be controlled by a handheld remote control.

• 1/2" VHS Videotape

• Laserdisc
• CD Audio

 

Computer Equipment:

 

There is a dedicated computer in this room which is not linked to the 33" multisync monitor.

 

Other Equipment:

An overhead and slide projector may be obtained from the Multimedia Center with advance notice.
