In collaboration with other departments at Northwestern University,
these collections have been digitized, making them available to
a much broader audience. The originals of the digitized images are
held in the McCormick library. Several other digitization projects
of our collections are forthcoming.
The Siege and Commune of Paris
This site contains over
1200 digitized photographs and caricatures recording the
Siege and Commune of Paris, 1870-1871. In addition to
the images found here, the McCormick Library's Siege and
Commune collection contains thousands of caricatures,
68 newspapers in hard-copy and film, hundreds of books
and pamphlets and approximately 1000 posters.
William Hogarth and 18th-Century Print Culture
This is an online version of an exhibit held in 1997 at the Mary
& Leigh Block Museum commemorating the 300th anniversary
of William Hogarth (1697-1764) using prints and other
materials from the McCormick Library.
