Unfortunately, due to local custom and interpretations
of licensing agreements, your access to local library resources
is limited and restricted. There are two on line resources you can
use to access the Online Public Access Catalogs of local library
resources. They are:
PALINET - An alphabetized listing of all the
academic, public and special libraries in the PALINET consortium.
Those entries which are highlighted can be accessed on line:
and
LIBweb/Academic - A site maintained at Berkely which
will allow you to access Academic Libraries throughout Pennsylvania.
This site will also allow you to search the catalogs
of academic libraries throughout the country and will thus be of
use to SPSC students who reside outside of Pennsylvania and who
will be working from their homes on weekends or holidays:
Drexel has both ABI/inform & Acadamic Universe
and will allow non-affiliates to use these databases, on-site. A
photo ID will be necessary between 9am and 5pm.

The following facilities will allow non-affiliates
to use their collections but will not allow non-affiliates to access
their proprietary databases, even in-house. Call ahead or peruse
the library's web site for specific information on services, hours
of access and terms of access. Every library has slightly different
rules and regulations:

The public library and its branches will allow full
access to its collection and all proprietary databases; however,
they do not have the most valuable, full text databases, such as
ABI/inform and Academic Universe. They do have EBSCO and Periodical
Abstracts, etc., some versions of which have full text capabilities:
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RESEARCH!
