How to Search for Electronic Resources

There are now three methods which Transportation Library patrons can use to search for appropriate electronic resources:

1.Connect to Northwestern Univerity Library's Electronic Resource site. Use the dialogue boxes provided to search for a particular subject, i.e., <air transportation> or <criminology>. This will bring up a number of selected databases, web sites, e-journals and CD-ROMS that will address the subject of <air transportation> or <criminlogy>. You can also search for a particular title of an e-resource, such as the periodical indexes, TRANSPORT or NCJRS. OR you can search for the exact title of an e-journal, such as Traffic World or FBI BULLETIN. Or you can use the Quick Search below, typing in a title or keyword, to search and go directly to the site.

2.Using the navigation bar, to the left, click on any subject listed under <Transportation>, or click directly on the term <Law Enforcement>. This will take you to e-collections on our web site that list periodical indexes, databases, web sites and other e-resources that have been selected for you by Transportation Library staff. We think you will find them particularly useful in your research.

3. The Transportation Library participates in the Cooperative Online Resource Catalog (CORC), maintained by OCLC. Once you connect to WORLDCAT, you will be able to perform a refined, boolean search that will result in a list of carefully selected web sites addressing your area of transportation or law enforcement interest.
