The Boas Mathematics Library is named after the late professor Ralph P. Boas (1912-1992), distinguished mathematician and former executive editor of the Mathematical Reviews - world's leading index to mathematical publications. The Library, located on the first floor of Lunt Hall (2033 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60208), serves primarily Northwestern's Mathematics Department and Statistics Department as well as other NU community.

The Mathematics Library has a research collection in pure mathematics and statistics of approximately 34,000 volumes. Much of Northwestern's collection in applied mathematics is located in the Seeley G. Mudd Library for Science and Engineering. MathSciNet, a web based version of the Mathematical Reviews, is an electronic database for mathematical information. Access to this database is limited to users of the Northwestern University community.
