Library security

Our  protect library materials and facilities, enhance library services, and provide library users with safe, comfortable, spaces for research and learning, we have established a University Library Building Use Policy.

If you are faced with a security concern while in one of our libraries, you should call 911 (for an immediate threat) or contact Library Security.

Tours and Class Visits

For availability and scheduling of library tours and high school class visits and activities, please contact the User Education Librarian, Jeannette Moss at See below for scheduling guidelines.

Size: Northwestern University Library will only be able to accomodate visits from groups up to 40 students at a time. Due to the limitations of space and availability of the library facilities we may not always be able to accomodate the maximum number.

Scheduling: The library may accept up to 4 visits per month and up to 6 per quarter depending on staff and space availability. Visits must be scheduled at least 3 weeks in advance. No visits will be scheduled within the last 3 weeks of any quarter. Academic calendar information can be found on the library's hours page.
