Making an appointment

The Charles Deering McCormick Library's collections are non-circulating. For Fall 2020, use of the collections is by appointment only. To set up an appointment contact us directly at specialcollections@northwestern.edu.

After making an appointment, patrons must register and create a user account in the McCormick Library Request System to request materials. Use your account to request material through the online catalog and to keep a record of your transactions.

When you have an appointment, you will check in at the University (Main) Library Welcome Desk, with your WildCARD or government-issued ID. See our policies and procedures page for detailed information.

All library users must follow the University Return to Campus Policy, including showing your Symptom Tracker badge before entering the building, wearing a mask at all times, and maintaining social distancing. By registering for this reservation, you agree to follow campus and library policies.

To request reproductions of materials, please see our Research & Instruction page.
