Technology and Multimedia

The Libraries offer a wide range of technology and media services to support your work and creativity. From recording in our video and vocal booths to 3D printing in the MakerLab, accessing specialized software, borrowing laptops and using WiFi or library computers, we are here to help you create, connect and collaborate.

Printing and Scanning

Request Scanning Services

The Libraries provide scans and reproductions from our collections, other libraries and special collections.

Computers and Internet Access

Internet Access and Connectivity

Connect to WiFi in the Libraries or access resources off-campus using VPN. Visitors can request a Guest NetID for temporary computer access.

Available Software

Library computers offer standard software plus tools for accessibility, media production, GIS and data visualization.

Technology Spaces

Audiovisual Production

The video production studio and the vocal booth offer self-service recording options to record lectures, interviews, podcasts and more.

Mitchell Multimedia Center

The Mitchell Multimedia Center offers a wide range of physical and streaming media. Staff can convert formats and create streaming files for Course Reserves in Canvas to support instruction.

MakerLab and 3D Printing

Mudd Library offers 3D printing and scanning services for Northwestern students, faculty and staff. A consultation is required for independent MakerLab use, or you can submit a project request for pickup.
