There are several computer labs equipped with desktop PCs and Macs in the library. You may also borrow a laptop or tablet for temporary use.
Other resources include a Bloomberg Terminal, 34’’ monitors that can connect to personal laptops, workstations designed for use with GIS software and adaptive technology stations for accessibility.
Locations
Students, staff and faculty of Northwestern with an active NetID can log into any Northwestern Libraries desktop computer with their NetID. The closest computers to the library entrances are in the McGowan Information Commons in University Library and Astrahan Information Commons in Mudd Library, just past the welcome desks in each building.

Guests without a NetID may request a Guest NetID from the Welcome Desk in University Library.
Guest NetIDs are valid for one day and are required to access secure online resources.
Borrow a Laptop or Tablet
Northwestern students, faculty and staff can check out Dell laptops or iPads for short-term or quarter-long loans. There are a limited number available, and they are loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible Patrons
For quarter-long laptop loans: Northwestern students only (excluding Law, Feinberg, and Styberg)
For 14-day laptop and tablet loans: faculty, students and staff with a NetID (excluding Law, Feinberg, and Styberg)
Limits
Only one laptop or iPad can be checked out at a time.
Quarter-loan laptops are due at the end of the quarter and cannot be renewed.
Laptops and iPads must be returned directly to the circulation desk and not to the book drop.
