About the Center

Oak Grove Library Center (OGLC) is a high-density shelving facility with state-of-the-art climate and temperature controls. OGLC is home to low-use general materials, many with online equivalents, from Northwestern University Library, the Galter Health Sciences Library and Pritzker Legal Research Center.

OGLC is closed to the public.

Access Items in OGLC

Turnaround time: Standard turnaround time is 1 business day, Monday-Friday.

You can request materials housed in OGLC in two ways;

  1. Request to pickup from Main Circulation Desk in University Library
    1. Sign in to your account with your NetID or username

    2. Locate the item you would like to request

    3. Under "Get It", click "Request"

  2. Choose pickup location from the dropdown menu

    1. Request a scan of excerpts through Interlibrary Loan

    2. Log in to your Interlibrary Loan account

    3. Under Place a Request, choose article or book chapter

    4. Fill out as much citation information as possible; more information can speed along fulfillment

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I visit to pick up my book?

No, OGLC is not open to browse. Request delivery of materials to University Library and pick them up at the Main Circulation Desk.

How long will it take?

Generally, one business day, Monday through Friday.

Why relocate materials to OGLC?

The relocation of some general collection materials addresses the overcrowding of library shelves, provides flexibility for more study and collaboration spaces and makes room for new printed materials.

What kinds of materials are housed at OGLC?

Materials are low-use print materials, many of which have online equivalents available.
