Explore the McCormick Collection

The Charles Deering McCormick Library of Special Collections and University Archives houses the University's rare and archival materials. Special collections include rare printed books —from incunabula to contemporary artists books, medieval manuscripts, archival collections, broadsides, prints, photographs, artifacts, and ephemera. University Archives houses records, publications, photographs, and other materials pertaining to every aspect of Northwestern’s history.

Accessing the Collections

The collections of special collections and archives is in-library use only.  Plan a visit to the library to get access to materials from the McCormick Library. 

A portion of the collection has been digitized and is available through Digital Collections, and you may request a reproduction of McCormick materials by requesting a photoduplication on the Special Collections and Archives portal.
