Citation management tools keep track of your research by collecting, managing and sharing your citations, and can automatically format citations and bibliographies for your projects.
Citation Management Tools
The Libraries support three citation management tools. Click the title of the each tool below for a research guide for getting started.
- Zotero is a free, open-source bibliographic manager available for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Northwestern users have unlimited storage in Zotero when logging in with a Northwestern email.
- EndNote is bibliographic software available for Windows and MacOS. Northwestern users have licensed use of EndNote through NUIT.
- Mendeley is a free reference manager and academic social network.
