A NetID is required to use library computers and access library e-resources.
Temporary guest NetIDs can be requested at the University Library welcome desk on Level 1. Guest NetIDs are valid for one day.
NOTE: During final exams, guest access to computers may be limited. If you need access to a guest NetID because of special circumstances, please email library@northwestern.edu with your research needs.
To connect to the wireless internet in the library without a NetID:
Choose “Guest-Northwestern” as your wireless network
Accept the University’s acceptable use policy
You cannot access electronic resources on personal devices.
Non-Northwestern university media and press should arrange filming and photography with media relations.
We welcome groups to schedule a library tour. Scheduling is subject to staff and space availability and the University's academic calendar. Please note that we may only be able to accommodate limited group sizes for visits. Inquire about instruction for your class or group via the library instruction request form.
Please note: we cannot accommodate high school tour groups for the current academic year.
