Check out items at Schaffner Library's Circulation Desk, which can also provide information on library privileges, such as loan periods, renewals and requests.
You can also find information on borrowing policies and procedures online:
- Borrowing privileges
- Renewing and returning items
- Loan periods
- Fees and fines for overdue, lost or damaged items
- Requesting materials through Interlibrary Loan
Reserve materials for current classes on the Chicago campus are shelved behind the Schaffner Circulation Desk at the instructors' request, and are available during Schaffner's open hours.
To check out an item from the Schaffner Reserve shelf, request the desired item by the instructor's last name. You will need to present a Northwestern WildCard to borrow the item.
All Reserve materials must be returned to a Schaffner Circulation Desk attendant where you will be offered a receipt of return. Reserve books may not be returned to the bookdrop.
For more information about electronic reserve and overdue fines for reserve items, visit the Course Reserves webpage.
