Bob Trautvetter

Bob Trautvetter

  • Director of IT Infrastructure

Bob Trautvetter is the Director of IT Infrastructure at the University Libraries. His team supports both staff and public computing, overseeing critical digital technologies and core library services that serve the academic community, including systems like Alma, Primo, and other discovery layers.

With 26 years of experience in library IT, Bob has held various roles, including Head of Technology Support, Technical Support Consultant, and Coordinator of Desktop and Lab Support. Before transitioning to IT, he worked in Technical Services and Interlibrary Loan.

Bob is actively involved in several committees, including Technology Strategies Committee, Library Digital Accessibility Liaisons, Library Operations Group, and Library Facilities. He also participates in campus initiatives such as the Infrastructure Advisory Committee. Regionally, he is engaged with the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), co-leading the BTAA Library Digital Strategies and IT Services group and the SCSB Pilot team.

Bob holds a Master of Music in Voice from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, as well as a Certificate in Computer Studies from Northwestern’s School of Continuing Studies.
