Requests and Interlibrary Loan
After completing a search, get the physical materials you need. These webpages cover the process, which depends on your search results.
- If the item is available you can find the book in our stacks or route the book to the Circulation Desk or another location. See Getting Available Items for instructions.
- If the item is unavailable, you can request it from a regional research library using UBorrow. Other options include placing an Interlibrary Loan or recalling the item. See Requesting Unavailable Items for more on these processes.
Non-Northwestern affiliates should request items through their local library.
The Libraries also loans materials to other institutions via Interlibrary Loan. Learn about this service.
