Visitor access

We welcome visitors during public access hours.

Please bring a government-issued photo ID to check in at the welcome desk. All library users must follow the University Expectations for Visitors to Campus.

Visiting from out of town?

Tours and class visits

We welcome library tours and high school class visits to the Libraries. Scheduling is subject to staff and space availability and the University's academic calendar. Please note that we may only be able to accommodate limited group sizes for visits. Inquire about instruction for your class or group via the library instruction request form.

Borrowing privileges

Borrowing privileges are available to the following groups:

Alumni with degree Photo ID, Library staff will verify graduation  $25 for 1 year 
Alumni without degree Photo ID $50 for 3 months, $150 for 1 year 
Evanston Borrower  Photo ID, Proof of Address  $50 for 3 months, $150 for 1 year 
Reciprocal*  Photo ID, Institution ID, Good standing at home library  No fee 
Faculty/Staff Spouse  Spouse Wildcard  No fee 
Temporary/Contract Employee  Temporary Employee or Contractor Wildcard  No fee 
Retired Faculty or Staff Retiree Wildcard No fee

*Faculty, staff, and students of the following universities are eligible for reciprocal borrowing:

Limitations to Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges do not give borrowers off-campus access to subscription services, due to site-licensing agreements. Borrowing card holders are not eligible to use the Library's Interlibrary Loan or Scan & Deliver services.
